'Minty Apple Green' Iced Tea Recipe
This unusual combination of ingredients creates the most divine iced tea recipe.It is a light and very refreshing, thirst quenching drink, you could just gulp and gulp!
A mellow taste of mint and apple with a hint of sweet, but not too sweet.
It is:
- Low in Caffeine
- Full of antioxidants from the Green Tea
- Low in sugar (the only sugar comes from the added Apple Juice).
To make one glass:
You will need:
- 2tsps 'Minty Green Gunpowder' Herbal Infusion
- 1/2 tsp Stevia leaves
- 1/4 Cup Cloudy Apple Juice
Put 2 teaspoons of 'Minty Green Gunpowder' and 1/2 tsp Stevia leaves together into a 250ml mug using a tea strainer or infuser. Pour boiled water over the leaves to 3/4 full and then top cup up with cold water. (Adding the cold water prevents tea from becoming bitter). Leave to infuse for 3 minutes, then remove the infuser, cover the tea and cool in the fridge.
When the tea is cool and you are ready to continue making your iced tea, put a good handful of ice into a tall glass (approximately 400mls). Pour the now cool naturally sweetened Minty Green Gunpowder infusion over the top of the ice and add 1/4 cup of apple juice.
If you are too impatient to wait for the tea to cool down, you can use it straight away and just use a bigger glass with more ice. But the ice will melt quicker and the flavours will be diluted.
To make one Jug:
This recipe was made using our 1.5L Iced Tea Jugs, which has a built in infuser.
You will need:
- 8-9tsps 'Minty Green gunpowder' Flavoured Green Tea
- 2.5 tsps Stevia leaves
- 315mls Cloudy Apple Juice
Put 8 or 9 teaspoons of 'Minty Green Gunpowder' and 2.5 teaspoons of the Stevia leaves into the infuser section of the Iced Tea Jug. Pour 4.5 cups (250ml sized cups) of boiled water and 1/2 cup of cold water over the leaves, and leave to infuse for 3 minutes, then remove the infuser, close the lid of the Jug and cool in the fridge.
When the tea is cool and you are ready to continue making your iced tea, pour in approximately 315mls (About a cup and a quarter) of Apple Juice into the jug with the infused tea.
You can add some ice to the top of the jug if you wish, or serve in glasses that have plenty of ice in them.
You will get approximatley 4-5 large glasses of tea from this jug.
