Black Tea

Black tea is made from leaves that are fully oxidised, unlike white, green and oolong varieties. The longer a tea is oxidized, the darker it gets.
Black tea production always involves four basic stages: withering, rolling, oxidation and firing.
It generally has a stronger flavour, with more body and contains more
caffeine than the more lightly oxidised teas.
- Black tea is stimulating - a great pick-me-up tea!
- Also high in antioxidants.
- Perfect for traditional tea drinkers.
- Reduces risk of heart disease.
Teas from different countries, growing regions and gardens can vary, just as wine grapes vary!
Lower quality black tea is usually machine-processed and is most often used for tea bags. High quality black tea is hand-processed and almost always sold loose.
